A Common Mission To Ensure Older Adults Enjoy The Best Possible Life Quality

As an organization whose mission it has been for more than 30 years to offer products and services that contribute to older adults enjoying the best life quality possible, we were pleased to recently learn of another innovative organization with a similar mission.  And, that organization is Tellegacy.

Reducing Negative Impacts of Social Isolation and Loneliness on Seniors

Tellegacy, an intergenerational program created to combat loneliness and social isolation, was founded by Dr. Jeremy Holloway during the early months of our recent U.S. COVID pandemic due to his concern about the negative impacts increased isolation, resulting from the pandemic, could have on seniors. Dr. Holloway is a Geriatric Professor and Director of Geriatric Education at the University of North Dakota who specializes in resiliency, self-efficacy, and connectedness of individuals.

Tellegacy’s program matches university students with U.S. seniors who might be most at risk of feeling lonely or isolated and suffer most from associated consequences. Through weekly phone or virtual visits with university students, seniors participating in the program report feel more connected and more hopeful. But, with his permission, we’ll let you hear about this amazing program and its impact on older adults from Dr. Holloway himself via the podcast shared below.
