Funding Sources
Durable medical equipment (DME) can be quite expensive, and sometimes insurance won’t cover part–or sometimes any–of the cost associated with it. Other costs, such as home modifications for seniors aging in place, will usually be out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by medical insurance at all.
But there are many different funding sources specifically designed to help with problems such as these. Non-profit associations–both local and national, government agencies, and charities offer help for qualified individuals and families with their durable medical equipment-related (DME) purchases.
